Grouse Mountain's popular Adventure Day Camps will be returning in the event of a continued strike. Kids ages 5-12 can choose from four different themed camps that will go from 8:30 a.m. till 3:30 p.m. They'll also be offering a full refund for registrants if the job action is resolved. The Vancouver Aquarium will be running educational day camps for children in grades K-7, and Youth Environmental Leaders camps for grades 8-12 during the teachers' strike. Register online.
YMCA centres around the Lower Mainland will be offering strike camps for children aged 5-12. Camps will be held in Vancouver, Surrey, Chilliwack and on the Sunshine Coast. You can call 604.939.9622 to be added to the wait-list and check online for more information.

Located in Yaletown, Skills 4 Kids will be offering day classes for kids age 3-8 based on B.C. curriculum. You can find more details online.

The teachers' strike led to an abrupt and unceremonious end to the school year this past June and left many searching for last-minute childcare. As the government and BCTF continue their negotiations, parents can be prepared for strike action to continue into September with some of these local childcare options.
