Top-tier yoga classes taught by the world’s most sought-after teachers included Seane Corn, Shiva Rea, Ana Forest, Maty Ezraty and Tiffany Cruikshank. Dedicated yogis had the option this year to opt for a Voyager Pass that featured the full festival experience with an added Module 1 of the Wanderlust Teacher Training. The yoga classes offered here help take your practice to a whole other level.
Live performances featured the one and only Michael Franti, the good vibes of Nahko & Medicine for the People, the sheer exuberance of The High and Mighty Brass Band and MC Yogi’s positive hip-pop.
After working up a sweat from holding that downward dog all day, delicious food to nourish the soul was available throughout the festival including the Farm to Table Dinner by reservations. Local, organic B.C. wines were on full display as well as B.C. craft beers.
Outdoor enthusiasts of all ages took part in a full range of adventurous activities from stand-up-paddle-boarding, explorative hikes and adventure runs to kayaking, outdoor meditations, photo treks and more. A selection of imaginative activities such as acroyoga, hula hooping, and slacklining were also available.
Attendees were inspired by the Speakeasy series, a lecture program featuring today's thought leaders: start-up visionary and founder of Treehugger.com and LifeEdited.com, Graham Hill; Nourished Kitchen founder Jennifer McGruther, Master Fermentationist and herbalist Summer Bock and lululemon’s own yoga designer Brenda Holmes, who shared about the process of designing the collaboration line between Wanderlust and lululemon.
Holmes describes the festival as a transformational weekend. “You come, peel off the layers and leave feeling lighthearted and super renewed on life.” The lululemon collection designed by Holmes for Wanderlust came from the inspiration of the metamorphosis in nature. “Like a caterpillar cocooning in to a butterfly – that’s kind of what happens at Wanderlust. You start out in your shell, and by the end of the weekend, your wings are out! We wanted to bring that in to the product. We did a feather print and then another with butterfly wings and caterpillars.”
Wanderlust challenges you during the day and brings out the fun in the evening. From live bands and DJs on the main stage, to lawn activities like hooping and acroyoga, to the local food and craft vendors, there’s a lot to do when you’re not on your mat.
Mind and body connection is so important in the fast-paced world we live in with the push-and pull of life that can become overwhelming to say the least. Slow things down with a little meditation, relax in to child’s pose and take the stress out of life.
Wanderlust festivals are all about finding your flow, discovering what truly takes your breath away and celebrating mindful living
